The troop section is the original section founded by Robert Baden Powell (the creator of the scouting movement). The troop meeting consists of lectures, games and crafts while the yearly program is made up of activities such as, Camping, Sailing, Abseiling, Hikes, Mapping, Orienteering ,Horse Riding ,Canoeing, Cookouts, Scouts Band and other adventurous activities.
The Troop is based on the patrol system, which is a special feature of scouting. The Patrol system is not one method in which Scouting can be carried out, but the only method (BP).
Scout Troops operate in Patrols of six to eight members one of whom is a Patrol Leader (PL), who in turn shares, with an adult Leader, responsibility, discipline, activity planning and training of the less experienced members.
